Ken, The end of the air pump can be unsnapped from the motor and in this sealed end cap is a paper filter I would hope volvo would sell this as a replacable part.The casting information is Pierburg Germany >LP1141 PP-GF-20< The Motor unit is 9146948. Maybe a drain plug could be adapted to drain any moisture. If you would like I could get photos of the assembly.
