Tires: H Rated vs. V Rated. Does it make a difference? 850 1997

With your earlier question, it sounded like there was an issue with some other part of your car rather than the tires themselves. I hope you resolved that.

In our car (1995 850 turbo sedan), I had the V-rated tires first and now I have the H-rated. The grip of both had/has been outstanding. The H-rated seem to last quite a bit longer, even though fairly often we go close to the very high end of the speedometer. Also, the first two sets of tires we had were Z-rated; yet, they were not that good in the winter time, and I am against using several sets of tires at different times of the year, in the midwest (where it can be in the 70s for a few days and snowy and in the 20s the next few days, etc.).

In my opinion, you have made a very good choice.

1995 850 turbo sedan (becoming a sophomore this Fall; had it since "its birth")
2006 S 60 2.5T (becoming 4 year old this Fall; had since "its birth")
(and thinking of a XC60 diesel in the near future with about 40 mpg overall)
