Strange instrument behavior 850 1995

This morning when I started my car, none of the gauges worked, the "upshift" arrow was blinking, and the check engine light was on. On the way home, the gauges worked, but the arrow still blinked and the engine light was still on. I had my instrument cluster replaced about 4 months ago. Is it probably the cluster, or do I have poblems now with my engine and trasmission? Does anybody have any ideas?
