check engine light problems 850 1996

my 96 850 is giving a code for what could be either a bad relay for the air pump under the battery or the air pump itself is bad yet when i turned the engine on i could feel the air pump vibrating so its working. i also heard that it could be a bad o2 sensor since i just had my catalytic converter replaced. however i don't know much about how to check if the 02 sensors are bad so if anyone could help i would appreciate it.
