The ABS, ECC, and other modules contain their own memory. They are not affected by power loss. Clearing the codes in the ABS unit will not tturn off the ABS light until the car reaches 18mph, when the self diagnostics are performed. Of the self-check does not detect any errors, then the ABS light will turn off.
