Re: Timing Belt

Mark, what year is your car? I assume it's a V70. Older model years had a timing belt with a 70K miles (112k km) and newer ones have a 105K mile belt (168K km). Whatever yours is, change it as recommended in your maintanance schedule. Thes engines are what's known as interference engines, which means that if the timing belt snaps, your top end is history and will cost you many thousands $$$ to repair. Not worth the risk of "letting it go". I think it is pretty much a consensus on this board that timing belt is one of those items you DO NOT let go any further than the schedule recommends.

Good luck.
