If you look under the latch (where the license plate lights are), you will see a rubber gasket that covers a key opening. Before you bother with it: crawl over the seat and pull up the lock plunger. Screw the plunger in/out to adjust and see if that works (it has for me). Otherwise, your dealer can lubricate the mechanism and get it to work. Best wishes.
