don't feel lonely, my wife's 2001 Audi has a DIM that goes dim when the cabin temp gets above 70F. Audi suggests about $900 for the part, one hour of labor to install.
You could look up Daril Waltrip Volvo in Tennessee and see what they charge. They are very good with other OEM parts pricing and might be worth the customs hassel. It should only take about 1 hour of labor + a charge to download software. http://www.dwvolvo.com/
