If after your queries they stand by this diagnosis and cost to repair post the name of the dealer here and send them a link. Better yet ask for a printed estimate and post it here.

Any Volvo dealer should be willing to stand behind their work and their diagnosis. I have a particular aversion to dealers who overcharge hoping that the good name and reputation of Volvo will keep them out of trouble.
