I just did it myself - the discussion thread is on the board. 10 days, the warning lights haven't come back on so I am declaring victory. Very simple operation.

I elected to buy a new one because the part has such a high failure rate that it made me nervous to get used parts.

I suspect that the control units are the same, as long as the model has trac.
