I had a similiar problem earlier this spring. I tried a few things but can not say for sure what worked. Some people have success replacing their battery. Some said the ground connection infront of the battery worked for them. I did not do any of those. What I have done so far:
Check all the vacuum for leaks.
An Italian tune up - Rev the engine above 4k rpm for about half an hour. What that's supposed to do is burn up the carbon build up free up the valves.
Replace the fuel pump relay.
After the above, the car ran fine for a few months until one September night. It started to stall consistently. I happen to notice the temp gauge drop to zero when it stalled. Fortunately, it repeated a couple of times. When I tried again the next day, the temp gauge stopped dropping to zero but the car still stalls occasionally. I decided the temp sensor is probably on its way out and have it and the thermostat replaced. This is within 4-5 days after the first stall. I have not had a problem since.
Just sharing my experience, maybe it'll help maybe not.
