The socket has two tabs that "click" into the circular mount that is molded into the console insert.

The circular mount if probably broken and the only product I know that will repair the ABS+PC material it is made of is PlastiFix from Urethane Supply Co.

Even so, it's a poor design and pushing home a charger with enthusiasm may break it again.

I hard-wired my cell phone power adapter to avoid using the outlets altogether.
