They are spelled 'brakes'.

When were your pads last replaced, miles ago? OEM or other brand. DIY or mechanic? Last brake fluid flush was when?

When you first start the car with your foot firmly on the brake, does the pedal sink a little when the engine starts to run? If not, the vacuum check valve may be a problem.
