Joe, it's common with pretty much every modern car I've driven. My UK V40 turbo does it too sometimes, usually when the engine is warm, rather than hot or cold. A trick worth trying is to turn the key so all the dash lights come on, wait 2 seconds, then engage the starter motor. This gives the fuel pressure time to rise to the right level.
