. . .sometimes poor. Two reasons.
One is the rear antenna amplifier and its connection on the left side of the rear window.
Another is the not-too-great design of the radio's AM receiver's front end.
I'd ask for (under warranty) another radio first, then if it's better than the original one, keep it. If the new radio is still not too good, ask to have the antenna amplifier next to the rear window replaced.
We had both done on our '00 S80 and it improved quite a bit. Especially the intermittant problem - that went away with a new antenna amp.
