No, don't try to modify your non-turbo car as you won't be very satisfied no matter what IMHO and "adding turbo" is not a realistic option either in the event that it's suggested by someone.

Save your money for a car that's known to be fast in the first place, THEN modify the hell out of it :)

At least that's what I like to do.
