Easy fix sometimes. Probably just a cable that needs oil behind the keyed portion of the ignition switch. Or the micro switch. Or the gear shifter switch. None of the above are difficult or costly.

Do check the tranny fluid for color and anticipate flushing the fluid when you bring it home.
