Cold Air S40-V40 00

When purchasing my V40 in May 01 the dealer installed the OBC for me.

I am now noticing cold air coming in thru ashtry asy. I now have 16K miles and noticed the other day while changing the cabin filter a plastic plug that measures 3" by 9/16"its about 5/8" deep and has a holder and foam piece the dimensions above. This part was just lose above and toward center of car from the cabin filer.

Any ides what it might be, just a filler plug taken out when OBC was installed? I now have the radio out and cannot see anything that might except this device.

This car has been excellent, no "check" anything lights. I average 29-31MPG.

Easy driving in NW Vermont. I really enjoy the handeling and ride.
