When I researched this a few years ago, I don't remember coming across this solution. I wonder if it came out since then.

I was under the impression that the software smoothing that Volvo implemented solved for the most part the problem. Obviously a total failure would make even smoothing no good.

Interesting to see a third party came to the rescue with a real long term solution to the problem.
