Hi, Bricksters.
Well, another call for intimacy from my S70. The rear right window switch in the driver's door window switch cluster is not raising the window any more. It lowers it fine, but up - no worky. The rear right door's own switch raises the window fine, so I conclude that the trouble is in the driver's door switch. I've had this happen before (possibly with a different window, I don't remember) and I had the dealer take care of it, but now I don't have a particularly good reason to make an appointment for anything (Check Engine light has been quite for almost a month - I am keeping my fingers crossed). Besides, this is another excuse for me to master something in the car that is obviousely going to be an issue down the road. My theory is that the water from the rain gets in there and oxydizes the contacts and I just need to clean them. Instead of making a big deal out of it I like to be able to take care of these minor owner-fixable issues myself. Like the turn signals, when they start blinking fast, I just take the bulb out, clean the charred contact, flip the bulb 180 deg and I got another 6 months of service from that thing - takes a few minutes, no special tools, so I accept this little annoyance as a price for not having to drive Japaneese (good cars, but no character). So, my question is: how does one remove that window switch cluster? I unscrewed the torx screw in the doorhandle, but that didn't release the switch cluster. All you Volvo mechanics, please help, so I don't have to go to the dealer (still under warranty) and I can learn how to deal with a "bad switch design" and not bitch about it. I don't mind taking care of these little things myself, especially when Volvo makes it easy by design to get to things (well, most of the time).
TIA and sorry for the verbal diarrhea
