I've got a '93, also non-turbo. As best I can tell, having searched high and low, there's no upgrades available for our engine electronics. All the aftermarket chips are for the turbo models (low and high pressure versions). My understanding is that the aftermarket crowd decided that anyone interested in a modecum of performance got a turbo model and that the normally aspirated engines were for the soccer moms and dads.
