Have you cleared the code? It should clear and then come back in a few days.

If you have a non-turbo, there are no hidden vacuum lines. Your hard to start condition is because your plugs are full of soot from running too rich, indicated by your poor mpg.

Check the vacuum tree first, that is where the IAC hose attaches on the top. Make sure the IAC hose is tight, the unused nipples are covered, and the small vacuum lines appear to go to the right places :)

Check the accordian air intake hose for cracks, especially underneath.

I am still puzzled by the constant 'clicking' noise that went away. There should not have been a clicking noise to begin with.
