Voltage drop at head lights. S70 1998

I have posted several posts About my dim low beams. you can look back if you want to see them.

I now have a set of e code lenses to try and hope in the next week or 10 days, I'll have time to change them, but I also read somewhere that the early S70's had a voltage drop module to the low beams because they were blowing bulbs????

I have installed the brightest Sylvania ultra bulbs in the low beams, but still pretty dim and bad coverage. In any case trying to leave no stone unturned I decided to check mine today just for grins. I only checked 1 bulb but it had a 1 volt drop between the battery and the bulb. 13.8 at the battery at idle and 12.8 at the bulb. I have seen where some people have removed that drop module. My harness wires have 3 wires going to a small module encased in the lamp bucket. From the other side only 2 wires go to the bulb. Is the module the dropping module?

Any tips about bypassing the module without hacking up the wiring?

Regards

Woody
