I had the same problem on a larger scale- the glue failed front and rear. Couldn't get it fixed in any way that wouldn't appear lumpy so I removed the headliner completely and replaced it with a better one from the wrecking yard.

I spray-painted the new one for a clean look, there are no signs of sagging one year later.


But that is a crazy project - hours of work, I must have been out of my mind.
