Re: Totally Confused V70-XC70 1999

Richard:

Back in the spring, I began looking for a car to replace my aging Jaguar, since the family was growing, I needed a baby/stroller, etc hauler--already have and SUV, so nothanks to more poor fuel economy and truckster ride qualities, so I was drawn to the 850s and v70s.. I was a little worried by all the negative comments but who really cares about a few light bulbs burning out--hey it happens to all cars sometime..anyway the evaporator and transmission fears did talk me into purchasing a '98 from a dealer on their certified program (VIP warranty 24k/24months) for piece of mind vs. a cheaper car from an individual. Anyhow, the car has been excellent so far..drives like no other wagon made, and IMHO, a few minor annoyances would be well worth the "european" driving characteristics and comfort/safety of the car. I could never have migrated from an XJS to say, a Camry or some other "basic transportation".BTW, my 18 month old always wants to ride in the Volvo vs. the Blazer. Good taste, I guess.

Good luck on your decision.
