How to go about airbag replacement?

Replacing the steering column bag is not major, replacing the passenger bag requires removing the dash top - also not too bad. Assuming that the replacements come from a pick&pull, cost is fairly cheap. You will probably need a new dash cover/top.

Two torx screws behind the steering wheel will remove the bags. I suggest replacing the horn ring at the same time with a new one.

The sensors behind the front bumper? I would think that they will need to be replaced, but I have never been there/done that. It might be possible to pull them back out to the ready position.

In order to turn off/read SRS codes, a dealer is needed.

This is not going to be a cheap fix.

Before buying a car that is obviously going to be 'salvaged', take a trip to the parts counter at a dealer and ask about the sensors, bumper cover, bumper shocks, etc. Also, if there is a reputable repair shop close to you, ask them for a little guidance as to possible parts that will be needed.
