burning oil,,I think 850 95

I changed my oil at Jippy lube. Couple of days later I noticed a spot of oil in my parking spot. Week later my oil is low(1/4 quart).Returned to jippy,,they said everthing is tight. He then pointed out that black soot was building in my exhaust, said I was burning oil. I was not burning oil before the oil change. Any ideas?????
