I believe that the thread you started earlier got confusing. At this point do you know why the check engine light is on? If you knew what the cause was would you do the repair yourself? If you don't plan on making the repairs to your own vechicle, just take the car to a dealer or good independent shop and have them read the codes and diagnose your reason for the check engine light being on. If you plan on making your own repairs then try the post at bay 13 that describes how to read and clear codes. After you read the codes people on the board here will be able to tell you what is wrong.
