It's the fuel pump relay.

Hi Klaus,

Got me.

I figured the intermittent no start condition was the PNP switch since after rowing the lever several times the car would start.

I also (incorrectly) presumed that the occasional rough running was unrelated since the car never stalled.

To correctly diagnose the problem you need to know ALL the symptoms.

Lesson learned.
