Gluing in 3 plastic bread clips to decrease the gap does work. I like that method just because it is easy to do and verifies the need to do a proper shim movement from behind the clutch plate to in front of the clutch.

One other thing, go to a car wash and pressure spray the condenser and radiator. A lot of grime gets built up over the miles and decreases the air flow.
