Yep, I have to agree with sniper. Can anyone offer some help on this one? I didn't experience this 1st gear sticking problem on my '95 850 Turbo until about a week ago when it really got cold in my area. Winter weather has arrived and it gets below 0 celcius at night and early mornings. Now I know better than to mash the gas before the engine is at its' operating temp so I always drive away slowly and with as little throttle as possible until I see the temp. needle somewhere near the middle on the gauge. But no matter how light the throttle application is, the transmission refuses to shift into second until about after 2 minutes of driving. My car has 85,000 KM (about 53,000 miles) and the tranny has never given me any problems until now. What's wrong? The car is 5 years old now and I don't know if it has had a tranny flush before but would that really solve this problem?
