If you look closely at it you'll see that the metal part with the 2 tabs (with the pin) can only be installed one way as it's offset. It also only goes into the back of the cyl head one way UNLESS forced.

To remove the impulse sender, carefully drill it out because if you try using a punch via the manuals instructions, you'll break the distributor base as it's white metal.
