Yannis,

When you say the Alpine changer in the 2001 models won't work do you mean without the software (VADIS) update or won't as in NEVER? I just got my (ordered in August) 2001 S40 and I'll be damned if I'm going to shell out $700 for a "Volvo" changer.

While I'm thinking of it, is it possible to add an amp and subwoofers to the audio system (HU-615)? I've heard both sides of the story. Is it even possible to upgrade the speakers and install add-ons in an amplified system?? I've heard that the amplification would have to be bypassed to put in aftermarket speakers. I was hoping to upgrade to Infinity Beta speakers and an MTX amp and a pair of MTX subs in the trunk. I need my THUMP!! The service guys at my dealer haven't been able to come up with a consensus on what can/cannot be done. The audio department at Circuit City is waiting to hear back from Volvo before they attempt anything so... I'm fishing for answers.
