Re: amp 850 1996

Hello Wayne,

The amp output can drive any four channel amp. You need to get a 6 pin male din connector to interface with the output on the SC811. If you look at the male connector with the "keyhole" tab at 12:00, then pin 1 at 11:00 is front left speaker (+), pin 2 is front right speaker(+), pin 3 is right rear speaker (+), pin 4 is common speaker ground, which is also grounded to the outer metal ring of the din plug, pin 5 at 1:00 is left rear speaker (+). The center pin is a remote turn on lead to the amp. You will have to create your own adapter from the din plug to female rca connectors, so that your standard autosound interconnect (male rca to male rca) can run from your adapter to the usual female rca ins on most amps. I had someone with signifacant soldering experience solder up my adapter, because there is very little space between pins and it's a hell of a job.

Volvo recommends using their own cd changer, but an Alpine 6 disk changer will work just as well. (They make the volvo units.) You will need an adapter to run from the cd control out on the sc811 to the changer. These can be purchased from Cruthcfield, most good install centers, and from a company called Blitzsafe who makes their own good adapter.

Hope this helps,
