I had the same diagnosis on my '98 S70GLT and the sensor was changed.
Several months later it did it again and the dealer gave the same reason.
However I had them turn the light off and did not schedule replacement the second time.
I really believe that I did the lawn mower syndrome, because I recall it running a little rough and some visable smoke when I started it up before the CE light came on.
I think the 324 code means run the car after it is started, and does not mean the cam sensor is bad.
Don't know why the car reaches that conclusion.
