Sorry John,
but my dealer tells me something else - normally, he is good informed.
He told me, that Chris´ trick will work, but that the light will come on after a specific time again. He too said, that cars from a specific VIN on will not react to this trick...
He told me, to go to a dealer to have the VADIS terminal connected, to reset the light (for free, for sure). He said it seems to be a bug in the VADIS software, it seems not to be able to reset the service light, before it comes on, something like "OK car, in 500 km, your light normaly would come on, but it already has this service done".
He said the other possibility is, that the mechanic hit the wrong key, when the VADIS asked "reset SERVICE light?"..
Well, lets see what happens....
Thanks anyway
Thorsten
