The seat heaters draw a lot of juice and should not be on without the engine running - same for the rear window defrost.

Another minute or two and your battery would have been below 9 volts resulting in a 'click' when you tried to start it.

Nothing is wrong with the battery or alternator.

Your 1967 still has a generator? Time to convert it to alternator.
