do a bit of searching on the forums for info on MY 2001 vehicles. Generally this is seen as the only truly bad year for V70. Some people say things are pretty bad but manageable, esp if you get a good price. Others say to run away from this MY at all costs.

The transmissions seem to be a real problem. If you can find one that has proof of flushes every 50k or so I wouldn't be too worried about it. Esp if it has all trans software updates from dealer too.
