It's not really discontinued. It's evolved. S70 2000

I think there is more to it than that they just renumbered their lineup. Volvo hasn't dropped the S70 sedan model. They've renamed it to S60. More importantly, however, is that it's now a little smaller than it use to be. IMO, I think Volvo was loosing S80 sales to S70 buyers and they downsized the S70 into an S60.
