My plain-jane 850 at about 170K miles has been throwing off a code that indicates catalytic converter inefficiency. I've replaced both O2 sensors in the past few months, so I guess this is the next step. But my mechanic quoted me something like $750 for the part. This seems nuts, as IPD -- not shy about charging for their parts -- has a whole exhaust system for less. Is there anything I'm overlooking here?

The guy will install a part I bring him -- is there anything to look out for or any recommendations?
