temperature goes up on local roads S70 2000

A couple things:
1. are you noticing the cooling fan coming on when overheating in town?
2. Is your radiator clogged (dirt, etc, grime), blocking the fins? If these are clogged with grime, etc, it could restrict airflow.

If your cooling fan is not coming on and you are in a warm area then you radiator temp switch may be bad, or the fan/relay is not working...
