Yes, cold does make a difference. All of the fluids are cold making the AWD a little sluggish, plus the addition of very cold air in the intake will change the timing just a bit.

Your light pressure turbo doesn't have that much 'kick' anyway, but as you car gets older, it is a good time to start replacing your vacuum lines - one at a time. Don't forget the lines to/from the turbo which can crack and leak.
