I don't know how bad the snow is where you are but yeah, give the Winter mode on the auto transmission a try--it works quite well, to a certain point. I think it starts the car from 2nd or 3rd gear and no matter how you stomp on the gas, a) the car is not going to spin its wheels and b) you are not going to get anywhere in a hurry!
