Lifters on those engines will leak down and be noisy after the car sits for a while but if you drive it for a little while it should get quiet again. For an extremely difficult to quiet lifter, get the engine to operating temp and drive it at high rpms (4-5K rpms) for a few minutes ("italian tune-up") as that usually gets those lifters pumped up (air removed).
