Drew, I don't think you are being totally honest with yourself. You find it time to change your car and the Boxter appeals to you and your wife. So? Volvo doesn't claim to be in competition with Porche. I don't think your choice of the Boxter is anything to do with Volvo service even if you haven't been happy with it. Come clean!
