Vadis doesn't have Bosch numbers in it, so it won't help you. It appears that the ECU might be '00+ . I also see an ebay link for that ECM being for turbos, which to me is odd. If it was in a '98 (and you are sure it was a '98) it might be worth trying.

How much are is the dealer charging for the upgrade now?
