I had a Bosch Platnum plug fail once in my Saab Turbo. The metal part that bends over the electrode broke off. I switched to NGK paladium (sp?) and have never had a problem with them.

I also had an exhaust valve burn in my 99 V70 T5M just two months ago. Do a search and you can read my post about it.
