V70 interior lights and drivers door V70-XC70 1999

Nope, not related, maybe. But you need to order a new lock from your dealer, it takes a couple of weeks to arrive from the factory. The new lock comes with an extra key, I suggest you also get a new security ring and horn ring to replace the worn ones.

The link shows how to remove the lock. Some have suggested that the steering wheel does not need to come off, but that makes things a little tighter to work on. You could drill a small notch on the outer edge of each screw and use a punch and ballpeen hammer to back out the broken off screws rather than drill out the screws. http://volvospeed.com/volvo_repairs_how_tos/miscellaneous_repairs_tips/replacing_cylinder_lock.html

The windows and mirrors need to have fuses checked first. If the ignition switch is not in position I or II, they will not work.

The micro switch on the door could have gone bad. Open the door and push the small black switch near the door latch towards the outside. That should turn the lights off. To release the switch, pull on the door handle, before trying to close the door.
