Air Recirculation question 850 1997

That noise is a little tiny electric motor behind the glove box trying to open and close a flap for the vent. The linkage to the flap is broken or the gear on end of motor is stripped. (6808653 Heater Control flap lever $7.00). Stumbled across the motor once online and thought the price was crazy, so I tied a string to open and close the flap.
