EVAP Canister ... V70-XC70 1998

Ok, just got the dreaded P0455 code and I've been checking all my hoses and valves, but I can't seem to find the EVAP canister.

My Haynes manual shows that it is on the drivers side front, directly in front of the front tire.

I looked there last night and guess what.... all I have is one big empty cavity.

So is that the correct location for it? If not, where is it located at?

If it is supposed to be there, how would it have just disappeared??

Also, where could I buy one? I've checked FCP and IPD, but no luck.

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.
